The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not — ah, forget it. Here we are, talking about it anyway. And it’s a slightly different Fight Club from what you’re probably imagining.
An ‘urban art exchange’, the first-ever Chang Urban Pulse is a fascinating glimpse into the talents of Thailand’s street culture. It’s basically a one night-only battle between Thai street artists and our local reps in the areas of break-dancing, beat-boxing, rapping and, of course, Muay Thai. Think Thai fighters like Kanpetch Pornpichit and Daojarat Kor Kiet Pracha going head-to-head in the ring against Singaporean opponents such as Brandon Ng and Cheryl Gwa.
But if you can’t take the heat of the fights, check out the music and dance throw downs featuring names like Radikal Forze, 99Flava, Dharni Ng, Blish, Masia One and TeCh`1.
The only problem is, you can’t buy your way into the invite-only event — you’ll just have to keep track of Chang Beer’s social media and online pages to find out how you can win tickets.
Chang Urban Pulse is on Feb 24, 9pm-late at Infinite Studios. Sign up here or keep updated on Chang Beer’s Facebook page for details on how to win passes to the event.
