Indonesian gambling man gets caught with $40k worth of MBS casino chips outside casino

When will people ever learn that they can’t pull off successful casino heists without the irresistible charms of George Clooney?

An Indonesian Danny Ocean wannabe was charged in court on Friday after $40,000 worth of casino chips from Marina Bay Sands were found in his possession outside of the designated site.

35-year-old Denny Nyoradi had been arrested at the Singapore Cruise Centre with those very casino chips — considered an offence under the Casino Control Act, Channel NewsAsia reports. Individuals are not allowed to hold on to casino chips with a value of $10,000 or more outside a casino or the premises of a designated site.

Even with that awesome amount of casino chips, he won’t be able to cough up the cash needed to pay the maximum fine of $150,000 should he be convicted. He also faces up to five years in jail, and his travel documents have been impounded while he awaits another court hearing on Jul 10.
