IKEA Singapore recalls their LATTJO bat capes due to risk of strangulation and injuries

Sorry little Batman fans (or bat enthusiasts, we don’t judge), IKEA has recalled their LATTJO bat capes due to risks of strangulation or injuries to the neck.

IKEA Singapore has urged customers who bought the LATTJO to stop children from playing with it immediately and bring them back to any IKEA store for a full refund, no receipts required.

Apparently, reports have popped up in IKEA’s radar about three kids who’ve received bat-shaped marks and scratches on the neck while using the bat capes. Additionally, the cape wasn’t easily detachable from their necks, risking strangulation.

According to the Swedish furniture company, no injuries which require medical treatment have been reported globally so far. The recall is being carried out right now as a precautionary measure, even though the capes have been sold here since November last year.

More information through the IKEA customer relations hotline at +65 6786-6868.
