Another series of quirkily-named IKEA products had to be recalled, and this time it might pose a bigger risk if they’re not returned.
IKEA Singapore called out for customers who bought their LOCK, HYBY and RINNA ceiling lamps because they’ve been falling out of their sockets. Issues have been reported worldwide, where ceiling lamp glass shades fell — medical treatment was required for some cases, and stitches were needed in one instance.
So far, no reports of injuries have been received in Singapore. LOCK and HYBY have been sold in stores here since 2002 and 2012 respectively, while the RINNA is not available in Singapore stores.
“IKEA urges customers who have the LOCK, HYBY or RINNA ceiling lamps to immediately remove them and bring them back at any IKEA stores where they will receive a full refund,” they wrote in a release.
All lamps can be returned at any IKEA stores without proof of purchase. More info available through the IKEA Customer Relations hotline at +65 6786 6868 or their website.
