Singapore’s famed nature park has maxed out in cheesiness in these new adverts.
Gardens by the Bay blessed the internet yesterday with four obnoxiously loud greeting images to promote the park’s discounted membership for seniors.
The greetings were edited to look like those commonly shared through chat apps by boomers. They typically contain overly positive messages in eyesore fonts and colors, as well as plenty of emojis, abbreviations and slang.
“😊 早安🌹Good A.M! ☀️ Selamat Pagi காலை… pls share tis with friends n loved ones… 🤗[…] tks and hv good PM…,” the park wrote.
The greetings, which feature highly saturated backdrops of the park, mostly contain Mandarin messages that translate to “a greeting brings warmth to the heart” and “with my best wishes and companion, you will be happy.”
“It’s a wonderful life because everyday is beautiful,” one message read.
While the ads are targeted at seniors, it had been pointed out that the ads are getting more attention from the younger generations instead.
all the younger ppl saying the aunties will love this not realising that while theyre reposting and sharing this that THEY HAVE IN FACT BEEN GOT!!! https://t.co/P3SUuQ8x3m
