Humans, 1. Machine, 0.
The Land Transport Authority and SMRT announced today that it will be hiring humans to man the Bukit Panjang LRT Line following a curious series of events that have been disrupting services since February this year.
Case in point: a 23-hour service standstill due to a power trip and electrical room fire at one of the stations, reports Channel NewsAsia.
What are the other incidents? #TooManyToMention.
Although the driverless light-weight train-cars are meant to operate with zero human assistance, personnel will now be deployed in the stations to provide quick and reliable assistance when needed.
Just goes to show that you can never send a machine to do a human’s job.
