HSA seizes over $400,000 worth of illegal sexual enhancement products in week-long INTERPOL op

The Health Sciences Authority of Singapore (HSA) announced today that over 36,000 units of illegal sexual enhancement drugs worth more than $400,000 have been seized in May as part of 7th Operation Pangea, a global enforcement op coordinated by INTERPOL.

The week-long operation uncovered more than 56,000 units of illegal health products including contect lens and slimming assistance.

More than half the loot was made up of said libido improvement ‘medication’, which after thorough lab testing were found to contain potent ingredients not declared on the product labels.

Amongst them were Black Deity, detected to contain slidenafil and tadalafil, Bull’s Genital Male sexual stimulant, detected to contain chloramphenicol and slidenafil, and Red Cialis Viagra, detected to contain tadalafil.

These products are said to have been sourced from overseas; this is the first time the HSA has detected Black Deity being sold in SIngapore.

HSA strongly advises those holding on to these products to stop taking them immediately.

Tadalafil and slidenafil are prescription-only medicines that have to be used under medical supervision. They may cause adverse effects such as decreased or loss of vision and hearing, as well as cardiovascular difficulties, and aren’t suitable for patients with select health problems.

Anyone convicted of selling these illegal products may face a fine of up to $100,000 and/or imprisonment for a period of up to three years under the Health Products Act, Poisons Act and Medicines Act.
