Damn, these guys look so cool — all dressed in black jackets, riding black 900cc motorcycles, taking down errant drivers and reckless riders across the country. Part of the Traffic Police’s Special Operations Team, the ‘stealth bikers’ have been doing their part to keep our roads safe by clamping down on anyone they spot breaking the law.
That includes common traffic offences such as drivers using their mobile phones, vehicles going way past the speed limit, and motorcyclists zigzagging through lanes without a thought for safety. So far, more than 700 violations have been detected in the first month of operations.
And the best (or worst, depending on what kind of driver you are) part is, you probably won’t spot them coming, because these covert officers blend in pretty well with the general public.
