You may have to wait to show off that new raincoat because the rest of July will continue to be relatively warm and rain-free.
According to the latest Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) forecast, we can expect daily temperatures to range between 24°C to 34°C, but on days with little or no rain, the maximum could reach 35°C.
But don’t put away those wellies and raincoats just yet!
MSS expects a couple of short, thundery showers over the next two weeks, mainly in the morning and early afternoon. In addition, Sumatra squalls passing from the Strait of Malacca to the South China Sea could blow in thundery showers and gusty in the wee hours of the morning.
While you may have noticed the first half of July was also pretty warm and dry, the few intense storms we did have were also the result of Sumatra squalls moving through the region, delivering some lightning and opportunities to take our new rain gear out for a spin.
Despite these wet events, the MSS says, the rainfall for July 2018 is still expected to come in below normal for many parts of Singapore.
