A motorcyclist died this morning after being run over by a trailer truck on the Seletar Expressway, graphic videos of which have shocked viewers online.
The unidentified biker appeared to get caught up in the wheels of the heavy truck at around 8:40am in an incident recorded by another motorist’s dashboard camera.
The man, said to be 45, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, police told Coconuts Singapore today. It happened on a section of the expressway between Upper Thomson Road and the Bukit Timah Expressway. Two cars were also involved.
An investigation is underway.
Police have asked the public not to circulate the dashcam clips of the incident – one of which shows the trailer’s wheels rolling over the man’s body and splattering blood and body parts across the road. Another clip showing the aftermath includes a visible body part lying on the bloodied asphalt.
Though they can be readily found online, Coconuts Singapore considers even the censored versions too graphic to publish.
Police did not identify the deceased, who several online viewers said was riding a motorcycle with Malaysian plates.
Other clips circulating of the incident on Telegram also showed a police truck making its way to the scene while traffic was brought to a standstill.
A traffic alert issued by the Land Transport Authority at 8:55am advised motorists to avoid the two right lanes. About half an hour later, it added that traffic was backed up all the way to the Tampines Expressway entrance.
