Hong Kong’s Genting Dream luxury cruise ship to make Singapore its home port

Genting Dream is an 18-deck, 151,300 tonne cruise ship that can take up to 3,400 passengers. Owned by Dream Cruises, a premium cruise line by Genting Hong Kong, the ship currently finds its home port at Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

But all that’s about to change. From December 3 this year, Singapore will become the luxury liner’s home port. The move was announced in a bid to tap on the growing number of middle to affluent class travellers from nearby countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, according to Channel NewsAsia.

From the year-end to March 2018, Genting Dream will cruise the sea to Southeast Asian destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Phuket. On board, you’ll be treated to an ‘integrated resort’ experience, which includes premium restaurants, loads of entertainment options and 24/7 butler service.
