A swerving container truck flips on its side and caused a seven-hour jam on an expressway yesterday.
Footage from dashcam and witnesses posted online showed the truck tipping over with a truck full of what looks like debris spilling across the entire road. This caused a jam lasting at least seven hours while emergency responders scurried to clear the lanes.
The police said they were alerted at 12:54pm yesterday to the accident near the Pan Island Expressway and the Ayer Rajah Expressway along Clementi Avenue 6.
Before tipping over, the truck can be seen swerving to the right behind another truck before crashing into the road divider. According to traffic news Facebook group SG Road Vigilante, the truck swerved to avoid hitting another container truck in front.
Two fire engines later arrived with firefighters rushing to the truck.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said an individual sustained minor injuries and declined to be taken to the hospital.
The road, which was closed for hours, was cleared and reopened at around 8:30pm last night.
