Highest temperature in past 10 years recorded in Seletar last week; more scorching days incoming

Proof that these past couple of weeks have absolutely been sickeningly hot — the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) stated that the country experienced its hottest day in 10 years in Seletar last Wednesday.

It was a scorching 36.7°C at Seletar, and is said to be the highest daily maximum temperature on record so far this year, and the last ten years as well.

In even better news, MSS says that we can expect more of the same torrid days in the second half of April in the inter-monsoon conditions. Folks can expect more migraines and sweaty nights with temperatures ranging from 33°C to the aforementioned 36°C.

Some relief will arrive in the form of short thundery showers in the afternoon on five to seven days, as well as some pre-dawn rain and gusty winds caused by a Sumatra squall on one or two days.
