Crowd sourcing travel website Flightfox has just completed its analysis of first-class cabins offered by the world’s airlines, supposedly driven by the launch of The Residence, Etihad’s new First Class luxury suite.
Topping the chart, which scores the product offerings of 24 airlines based on categories like seat comfort, food and drink, rockstar factor and hackability, is the Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) Singapore Suites.
The cheapest first-class suite flight on SIA costs about USD3,324, taking you from Mumbai to Singapore. The ticket will get you a set of pyjamas and Don Pérignon 2004.
The Lufthansa First Class, which beats the Suites in terms of seat comfort, but loses out ‘rockstar-ness’ and hackability, is ranked in second place. The cheapest seat in the section costs a whopping $5,520 and you’ll need to be flying from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Frankfurt, Germany, but you’ll get a set of pyjamas, limo service, caviar and Krug Grand Cuvée as a nightcap.
In third place Cathay Pacific’s First Class Suites, which costs a mere $713 from Taipei to Hong Kong.
