Craft gin and crowdfunding — why the heck not? This campaign, the first of its kind in Asia, is led by Paper Lantern Distilling, a new Singapore-based boutique craft spirits company helmed by a husband-and-wife duo. Their aim is to use only local and Asian ingredients in their products.
The initiative starts today, with the aim of launching limited edition first batch bottles of craft gin in Asia. Distilled in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Sichuan Pepper Gin has the flavour of Sichuan pepper mixed with eight botanicals (including ginger and lemongrass) and a dash of Thai honey.
As of now, there are 1,000 litres of Sichuan Pepper Gin waiting to be bottled and shipped out to Singapore. Funds from the first 150 bottles will help the couple produce a second batch and develop new products.

Each 700ml bottle (only available in Singapore) costs $100, with free shipping and bulk order discounts available. To buy the first 150 limited edition bottles, check out the newly-launched campaign on Pozible.
