This morning’s Monday blues were amplified as the afternoon rolled in, and along with it, stormy weather over the island. Thundery showers prevented many an office worker from braving the rain to get lunch, and cars ended up stuck on roads or trapped in car parks because of the heavy downpour.

Across the country, rainwater levels rose in the early afternoon, leading to warnings on social media from the National Environment Agency and national water agency PUB. Areas affected by flash floods included Commonwealth Lane, Craig Road, Rochor Road, Kampong Bahru Road, Alexandra Road, and Republic Boulevard, while People’s Park Complex saw its first three floors soaked and water seeped up a multi-story car park at Smith Street.

As for those of you who stayed warm and dry indoors, here’s a look at what the raging storm brought with it.
