After playing to over 10 million people in 20 countries since its premiere in 1998, the timeless tale of Notre Dame de Paris arrives on stage in Singapore this December.
Adapted from the 1831 Victor Hugo novel of the same name, the musical tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell-ringer of Notre Dame cathedral, Esmeralda, the alluring Gypsy street dancer, Frollo, the conflicted priest, Phoebus the deceitful soldier and Gringoire, the struggling poet.
It is a story of love, betrayal and acceptance that remains as relevant today as it was more than 170 years ago.

Leading the cast as Quasimodo and Esmeralda are Canadian performer Matt Laurent and Italian artist Alessandra Ferrari. Both have established musical careers as rock vocalists and come with a wealth of experience in their roles — Laurent having performed as Quasimodo more than 700 times over 15 years and Ferrari having toured with the Italian production of the musical in 2011/12. Notre Dame de Paris is directed by Gilles Maheu with choreography by Martino Muller. The duo previously collaborated on Cirque de Soleil’s Zaia, and you can expect Cirquesque drama and aerial gymnastics from the supporting cast of 24 dancers and acrobats. With music by Riccardo Cocciante and English lyrics by Will Jennings (best known for penning Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”), the mesmerising arias of the show have been recorded more than a dozen times in seven languages.
Notre Dame de Paris will show from Dec. 17 through Jan. 5, Tue — Sun 8pm, Sat — Sun, 2pm at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Ave. Tickets are on sale via Sistic, the Marina Bay Sands website and Marina Bay Sands Box Offices from SGD55 — 175.
