This isn’t fake news, but it sure is old news. Yesterday afternoon, two videos of a fight that reportedly went down at Peace Centre emerged on social media, making it to the Singapore Taxi Driver Facebook group before getting reposted to other similar pages. And because netizens seem to love a good throwdown, both clips naturally went viral, attracting comments from everyone with an opinion on the brawl.

But before you issue a call on social media for justice to be served, the police told The Straits Times today that the footage was of an incident that occurred on Aug. 27 last year. The videos simply reappeared online yesterday with no information on when the dispute happened, causing most people to assume they were filmed recently.

Since it’s an old case, the police explained that four men, aged between 22 and 32, were arrested for reasons such as causing public nuisance, disorderly behavior, and affray. ST noted that investigations are still ongoing.
