Singapore-based HBO Asia is set to air their first original production Serangoon Road, a partnership with Australia’s ABC TV, on September 22 (Starhub TV Channel 601).

The 10-episode series will feature international stars Joan Chen and Ario Bayu in the lead roles, alongside Singaporean Hollywood actor Chin Han, Singapore’s Alaric Tay and Pamelyn Chee, as well as Australia’s Maeve Dermody and Rachael Blake.

Serangoon Road is a detective drama set in 1960s Singapore, a tumultuous period in the city’s history right before it won its independence from the British.

The show was shot mostly in Batam, where replicas were set up, but some scenes were conducted on location at Singapore landmarks like the Raffles Hotel.
