Health Sciences Authority has asked the public to stop using Shantique Bellaza SkinCare products — Facial Fuel Toner Mezzo, UV Pro Day Cream Mezzo and Rejuvenating Night Cream Mezzo — because they contain undeclared harmful ingredients like mercury and hydroquinone.
These two ingredients could cause skin pigmentations and affect organs like the kidney after prolonged usage, according to the agency.
Shantique Bellaza, originally from Malaysis and created by a Hafez Zalkalpli (pictured above) according to its Facebook page, is sold online in Singapore and popular among those with problematic skin.
