So now, we know how to get a free iPhone.
Tan Min-Liang, CEO of Singapore gaming company Razer, took to Facebook to reveal some great news: that a fan was so crazy about her undying love for the gaming company that she decided to name her baby… wait for it… Razer Calix.
The baby was born in Quezon City in Manila, Philippines as shown in the birth certificate that was sent by the baby’s mother Anne and uploaded by Tan to Facebook on Friday.
Tan sent his congratulations over to Baby Razer (yup, we’re going with that name it seems) and even typed out a “lol” to cap off his remark that the mother had gone through the trouble to scan the birth certificate and send it to him.
“Best wishes again to the proud parents, what an honor,” he said.
As a result of her glorious deeds to cement a brand in her family’s lineage, she has won herself a free phone from Razer, said Tan.
“My team will be reaching out to you to send you a Razer Phone 2 so you can uhh… game while taking care of him,” he added.
The post has received more than 3,000 reactions and 650 shares as of press time, with comments from fans who are taking the mickey out of the situation, like this meme:
Other responses include a sympathy note for the kid (“Feel bad for the kid,” said Steve Evets”) to comments egging Min-Liang to name Razer’s next product the, erm, Razer Calix.
More importantly, it seems a few people have caught on the trend of sacrificing their baby’s names to get free merchandise from brands:

It won’t be too long now before another baby is born with the name Razer because one fan of the gaming company is busy making plans to honor her promise, with the CEO of the company himself wanting to come over for the baby shower.

We hope you take your child’s future feelings in consideration when deciding what to name them, because naming your child “Disneyland” may get you tickets to the theme park, but your child may have to live with a lifetime of regret at that name.
