Writing a resignation letter is never easy. You’re either really pissed off at the organisation/the boss/the culture/the colleagues and you could pen a thousand-word letter on why everything sucks, or you’ve had a good run and now all the bittersweet feels are welling up as you mentally take a walk down memory lane. Or perhaps you fall somewhere in between the two.
Whatever the case, this guy’s experience was certainly an unforgettable one.
In a nutshell, Chester Ang wanted to quit his job. He wrote a short letter of resignation to his manager, Kenneth Chen, who took it upon himself to tweak it because, well, it was really basic. So Chen edited the piece to add in key phrases that spoke highly of the company and himself.
And here’s what happened to the edited letter.
Ouch.
But amidst the chorus of netizens calling shame on Chen, several realistic commenters threw in their opinions.
There’s always two sides to every story.
