‘Growing Up’ actor Andrew Seow gets violent threats after exposing alleged dog meat seller to AVA

Actor Andrew Seow’s most prolific role is considered to be the handsome rogue/hooligan with a heart of gold on Growing Up.

But right now, he may be in trouble with an actual thug who sent him threats for exposing his alleged business of selling dog meat, according to The Straits Times.

In October last year, Seow apparently received a message on Facebook from a man who claimed to have killed eight dogs asking him to try the meat. Deciding to investigate further, Seow’s friend — Lim Suu Swen — posed as a buyer and contacted the man. They set up a meeting at a coffee shop in Geylang, where the man allegedly try to sell her some dog meat.

Seow also managed to get his hands on “concrete evidence” that the aforementioned Geylang man has been “hunting dogs and cats” in Tuas, which sounds really horrible if true.

“Seller claims that Lim Suu Swen and myself have foiled their profits last year and demand SGD 80K from us or we are dead meat. (No pun intended.),” he wrote in a separate post, which has since been taken down by Facebook.

The man had also threatened to beat them up if he saw them in public.

After lodging a report with the police last week, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) is said to be on the case. An AVA spokesperson noted that it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve received reports on alleged slaughtering of dogs for consumption here. Even so, they’ve found no evidence of such grisly affairs so far.
