We clearly did not expect a government app to get trolled big time, but it seems that the much-ridiculed SGSecure app by the Ministry of Home Affairs is receiving some funny comments of late by reviewers.

The app claims to be a national app to alert Singaporeans of potential terrorist attacks (whoa) and provides a space for Singaporeans to report a situation they witnessed and supply authorities with photos and videos.

While we’re not entirely sure of the reason for the surge of troll reviews on the app, one reviewer seems to allude to him allegedly being forced to download the app and leave a review or face ramifications down the line:

The app has been consistently receiving a string of hit-or-miss reviews, with the app mostly getting one-star reviews and scoring an average rating of 2.6 out of 5.

However, it seems some reviewers who have the gift of the gab started to bless the page during the New Year with some hilarious reviews of the app.

This reviewer recalled the one time he needed help with the vending machine and, lo and behold, SGSecure came to the rescue:

Someone then remembered the one time he saw Godzilla and Ultraman come to life because of the SGSecure app:

This review reminds us of the all-too-important case of Lorry vs Cyclist that gripped the country at the tail end of last year:

More dreaming of dinosaurs and other fabled figures in this review, with a special feature of the video game Overwatch:

Here’s one more review to round things up, featuring a flashback to the Japanese Occupation but with a twist:

Most of the trolls left five-star ratings on the app, but as you can see, their ratings come with reviews that would make every single General Paper teacher proud of these up-and-coming literary experts.

A check on the iTunes App Store also revealed similar-looking troll reviews for SGSecure involving the Russian army and mystical phoenixes.

This latest troll incident adds to a glorious tradition of trolls blessing our dry and drab island with some much-needed intelligent humor. Take for instance, the rise of troll pages in 2014. Then, the epic troll of Batman bin Suparman. Heck, even individuals are using trolling to fend off phone scammers.
