We’re gonna need a bigger boat — fishers warned about another huge croc swimming near Sembawang

The jetties of the Sembawang coast have long been a favourite haunt for anglers, but they’ll have to be extra wary these couple of days — they might be reeling in something way bigger than their hooks can handle.

Last Sunday, a man captured footage of a humungous crocodile swimming in the waters off Sembawang and the Johor-Singapore Causeway; a monstrous beast you definitely don’t want to mess with. Posted on local angler enthusiasts Facebook group Lure Haven, the huge reptile was filmed from a distance (as one should), and should serve as an alert for fishers to be extra careful the next time they’re in the area.

Crocodiles and sharks have been a common sight in the sea off the northern coasts, and if anyone needs more proof not to swim in the waters, this would be it. Last year, an angler fishing at the Woodlands Waterfront jetty managed to snare a crocodile, prompting a three-minute tug of war before the line snapped. Baby sharks have been caught in the area as well.
