Ghim Moh arsonist nabbed after month-long case

Police have captured a 23-year-old man believed to have been responsible for a month-long series of cases involving mischief by fire.

Between Aug. 23 and Sept. 25, there had been reports about discarded items such as cushions seats, cardboards and clothing being intentionally set on fire at the Ghim Moh housing estate.

Officers from the Clementi Police Division worked on the case and finally caught the suspect around the crime area on Sept. 26.

Anyone convicted for commiting mischief by fire or any explosive substance, with intent, will face an imprisonment of not more than seven years, and fines.
