Get collecting! New stamp issue marks 50 years of local television

SingPost will be releasing a new series of stamps called “50 Years of TV” at all post offices and the Singapore Philatelic Museum on this Friday, Nov. 22.

The stamps will come in five denominations, celebrating the transformation of the local television landscape over the last 50 years — from the first black and white broadcast in 1963 to modern digital TV with sharper images and better sound quality — and ushering in what looks to be a more brilliant era of viewing.

A complete set of stamps will cost SGD3.31.

A special date-stamp will also be available for collection at the launch of 50 Years of TV: Experience the Magic, a month-long festival jointly organised by MediaCorp and the National Heritage Board (NHB) that will kick off on Nov. 23.
