Genesis, which took over the Marina Bay Sands Crystal Pavilion that once housed superclub Avalon from December last year, is battling the weight of criticism right this moment, following a The Straits Times article that revealed the club disallows the display of body art.
According to the article, guests with conspicuous tattoos need to have them covered or risk being turned away, or worse, banned from the club.
This is the first time a Singapore nightspot is enforcing a formal no-tattoo rule — others may refuse guests with offensive body art at their discretion.
Genesis’ resident DJ Adonis Cornelius is apparently behind the idea — he himself has to cover up both his arms before entering the club.
