Day 1, March 8
The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) launched a C130 Hercules aircraft (top photo) to aid in search-and-locate mission, some hours after Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 239 people bound for Beijing disappeared off the radar after departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Day 2, March 9
At about 2am, a frigate, a missile corvette and one of the Singapore Army‘s Sikorsky S-70B naval helicopters joined the mission.
On the same day, another naval helicopter and one more C130 were deployed.

Singapore then sent the Navy’s Submarine Support and Rescue Vessel (SSRV), the MV Swift Rescue, which is equipped to perform underwater searches. On board the vessel are medical personnel and naval drivers. Watch the video at the bottom of this story to see how the MV Swift Rescue works.

Day 7, March 14
The Fokker-50 Maritime Patrol Aircraft is on its way to join the SAR efforts currently located in the Straits of Malacca, bringing the total number of assets from Singapore to seven.
