There’s going to be a lot of pink, glitter and shiny teeth in Singapore this week—yup, Barbie’s in town. And coming along for the ride are her brunette best friend Teresa and dashing boyfriend Ken, though it looks to us like his character’s evolved into something of a goof.
If you’re a big fan like collector Jian Yang, there’s lots to look forward to. For the first time ever, music from the popular Barbie DVDs Swan Lake, Princess and the Popstar, as well as Mariposa & the Fairy Princess will be performed live on stage and in true Singaporean form, we’re going to be the first to host the musical. Barbie LIVE! features the works of award-winning industry heavyweights such as choreographer Kobi Rozenfield (Beyonce’s “I Am” World Tour, Israel’s So You Think You Can Dance), set designer Stanley A. Meyer (Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast) and musical director Robbie Roth (Flashdance).
Barbie LIVE! is happening September 10-14, 11am, 2:45pm, 6:45pm at the Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands (10 Bayfront Ave., 6688-8868). Tickets are now on sale for $35, $55, $75, $95 and $125 (includes photo-taking with the cast) via Sistic.
