Free Pap smear screenings at 170 clinics in Singapore from now till July

Hey ladies, if you’re a Singaporean or Permanent Resident aged between 25 and 69, and you’ve been sexually active but haven’t had a Pap smear in the past three years, you’ll wanna go ahead and do so before July 31. That’s ’cause 170 participating general practitioners are offering these Pap smear screenings for free from now till the end of July.

This is part of the Singapore Cancer Society’s third annual Women’s Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Campaign, to educate the public on uterine, ovarian and cervical cancer. Uterine cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer diagnosed among Singapore women from 2010 to 2014, according to stats from the National Registry of Diseases Office. Cervical cancer makes the top ten, and it’s actually the most preventable out of the three.

If you can’t make it before July, SCS also provides free Pap smear tests at its clinic all year-round. Just make an appointment at the SCS Multi-Service Centre at the Junction 8 Office Tower.
