Well, well, well… What do we have here?
If you’ve been following Malaysian news, you’d know that a video featuring a bunch of men and women prancing about stark naked on a beach as part of something called the Malaysian Nudist Sports Games 2014, has been going viral.
In a nutshell (thanks, Coconuts KL!), the video, posted by user 알버트, is accompanied by a lengthy (no pun intended) report of the day’s activities held on a private beach in Teluk Bahang Jetty in Penang. The report details, among other things, a 2km nude walk along the beach by the event’s participants. Apparently, these carefree folks also took part in team building-like activities such as “crab walking” and “kettlebell exercise”, and got themselves painted by a ‘skin artist’.
An excerpt from the accompanying report:
“We literally had the whole beach to ourselves. It really felt like a nude beach because everyone that are present there are all nude. There were no disturbance from the outside world. For once we really get to enjoy the natural environment and atmosphere just as how nature intended it to be.”
According to this TODAY report, 15 of the participants have been identified. Four of them are Singaporeans, while the rest are said to be of Burmese, Filipino, Indian and Malaysian nationalities.
By now of course the Penang authorities have vehemently denied knowledge of any such event, and Perkasa is already working to ban the identified ‘perpetrators’ from ever entering the country again.
The video’s been taken off the original Vimeo page, but a ‘summarised’ version is now available on YouTube.
You’re welcome (or sorry in advance, depending on what you make of it).
