Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel rushed to Resorts World Sentosa this morning after part of the casino’s ceiling collapsed, injuring four people.

Channel NewsAsia reported that workers had been carrying out repair works on the ceiling in the casino when a ceiling board collapsed on them. SCDF were alerted to the scene at 10:13am, where they conveyed three people to the Singapore General Hospital. The fourth worker injured received treatment at Resorts World Sentosa’s in-house clinic.

SCDF stated that the casualties suffered head injuries, abrasions, and cuts.

The Straits Times reported that the incident area — near a restaurant in the casino at B1M — has since been closed off to the public. Casino patrons, however, were said to have been unaware of what transpired, but hey, who has time to be aware of your surroundings when you’re on (or not) on a roll.

Investigations are ongoing.
