Formula One champ Jenson Button is amazed by the hordes of Pokémon Go players at MBS

Tall, handsome and English, Jenson Button has been kicking ass in the world of Formula One since 2000, and eventually raced his way to the top nine years later when he became the Formula One World Champion in 2009. Across his career, he won 15 races and held 50 podium finishes.

But who gives a fuck about him when there’s a Charizard lurking somewhere in Marina Bay Sands?

The 36-year-old F1 driver touched down in Singapore yesterday, unconcerned about the Zika outbreak. What he was concerned about was the Poképocalypse, which he witnessed first hand as throngs of people (with gazes fixed on their phones) simply marched past him at Marina Bay Sands. Capturing it all on his Instagram page, he did exclaim how amazing the Pokélure of Pokémon Go caught on in a major way here — though it’s all #veryweird and #notforhim.

He should be glad he’s only in town for the Grand Prix weekend. The residents actually living near Pokémon Go hot spot of Hougang Avenue 10 have had to put up with the massive influx of trainers every day, and they’re not all okay with it
