A 51-year-old construction worker fell to his death from the 10th floor of a construction site in Tampines yesterday morning. Police said they were notified of the death at about 11:08am, after the man was found lying motionless at the Tampines Avenue 10 site and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

It is believed that the foreign worker was a Chinese national, Channel NewsAsia noted. The site is reportedly where a condominium called The Alps Residences is being built, according to The Straits Times.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said that the worker was performing formwork on the 10th floor of the building when he fell and landed on the fourth floor. He went on to add that China Jingye Engineering Corporation Limited was the occupier of the work site, and that a full stop work order has been issued.

MOM confirmed that the fatal incident occurred at the construction site, but did not comment further as investigations by the police and MOM are still ongoing.
