When a football star visits Singapore, people pay attention. Even if he’s been here multiple times before, like Cristiano Ronaldo has. The 34-year-old Portuguese player surprised fans by arriving on our shores on Tuesday (July 2), way ahead of Juventus’ match against Tottenham Hotspur at the National Stadium for the Singapore leg of the International Champions Cup (ICC) happening on July 20 and 21.

Ronaldo is expected to be here for four days, and if you’re trying to spot the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, it’s probably a good idea to camp out by Our Tampines Hub, as it has been reported that he will make a stop there on Wednesday (July 3) before swinging by a school the next day.

The last time the former Manchester United star paid us a visit was in 2017, when he came by to see businessman and billionaire Peter Lim’s daughter Kim, who had just given birth to her son. Lim’s company Mint media owns the image rights for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo also stopped by our Little Red Dot in 2013 as a marquee guest for Lim’s Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship initiative, which provides financial aid to needy young athletes. There, he gamely showed off his football skills to 200 students at Crest Secondary School and gave a motivational talk.

This time, the football star made sure to catch up with Lim once again, teasing an upcoming “good news” announcement on Instagram.
