The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) announced that a search and rescue (SAR) operation has been conducted for five people who reportedly went missing after a barge, Heng Hong 168, capsized in Singapore waters about three nautical miles west of Horsburgh Lighthouse.
Six other crew members of Heng Hong 168 have been already been rescued by a Police Coast Guard patrol craft.
MPA has also stated that the SAR operation will utilise commercial divers and resources for both aerial and surfaces searches.
All vessels within close promixity were also informed to keep clear of the SAR area and to report any sighting of missing persons.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
