Bid farewell to a nostalgic memory of your school days — Singapore’s beloved fish and chips purveyor Fish & Co. have announced the imminent closure of their iconic outlet at Dhoby Ghaut this year.
Come June 2016, Fish & Co. @ Glasshouse will be permanently closed after almost 14 long years due redevelopment works by Park Mall.
During its run, the restaurant has seen hundreds of regular diners pass in and out its doors — especially so for birthday celebrations when Fish & Co.’s tradition of making birthday boys/girls stand up on chairs while staff members yell their song at them. Always an awesome spectacle when your friends get sabo’ed at Fish & Co.
Of course, the closure comes following the general sentiment that service at Fish & Co. has generally degraded over the years. Just look at the amount of complaints on their Facebook page.
Love them or not, it’s fair to say that their most popular outlet had a pretty good run — not many local F&B establishments can boast having a restaurant in Singapore that existed that long.
