First SG50 baby born at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day

Singapore welcomed the very first SG50 baby yesterday when little Chloe Tham was born at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day,

Lian Wen Fang and her husband Tham Kuan How have officially become parents of Singapore’s first baby of 2015, arriving two days before her expected due date at Thomson Medical Centre, TODAY reports.

Chloe Tham also became the first to receive the commemorative birth certificate as part of the SG50 Jubilee Baby gift package, which also include a special medallion, a multi-functional shawl, a baby sling, a set of baby clothes, a scrapbook for memories, a family photo frame and a baby book.

Minister Grace Fu herself presented the new parents with the gift package yesterday. Another jubilee baby also received the gift package earlier this morning — Zayn Qushairi received the first SG50 birth certificate ending with the number 001A.
