Most folks would have been most glad to see some rainfall after an extra humid morning today — but not so for firefighters at Woodlands, who had to fight a blaze that broke out on a construction crane, presumably due to a lightning strike.
According to a witness, a crane at Woodlands Industrial Park caught on fire after “strong lightning” earlier this afternoon.

She also saw a couple of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) firefighters had to climb up the crane to extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher. Fortunately, no one was in the cabin.

No injuries were reported, said SCDF. The case is under investigation.
