Last night, flames were seen on the high floor of a building under construction at Farrer Park. According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the fire happened at Farrer Square at 1 Farrer Park Station Road. The building includes Park Hotel Farrer Park, shops and a medical centre, but the fire was restricted to a room on the 17th floor that had carpentry work inside.
The SCDF was alerted to the fire at 7.30pm and sent two fire engines, two red rhinos and six support vehicles — the blaze was extinguished by 9pm. Workers at the construction site were evacuated before the SCDF arrived, and no injuries were reported.
