Fire broke out in the generator room of Tanglin Police Divisional Headquarters last Saturday night, prompting a temporary closure of the service counter at Kampong Java Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC).
No injuries were reported during the incident when a switch box in the headquarters’ generator room caught fire, and was quickly put out by Singapore Civil Defence Force personnel within 15 minutes. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was accidental in nature.
As the power supply to Tanglin Police Divisional Headquarters and its co-located Kampong Java Neighbourhood Police Centre has been disrupted, rectification works are currently being carried out and its service counter will be closed till further notice. Emergency calls made to the NPC and the headquarters’ will still be answered however.
