Two out of local football hero Fandi Ahmad’s children have recently secured a lucrative sponsorship — described by Yahoo Singapore to be a handsome six-figure sum — from CIMB.
According to Goal.com, the renowned banking group’s contribution will help 15-year-old Ikhsan and 17-year-old Irfan complete their Universidad Catolica training and studies in Chile, where they currently live.
At the signing ceremony, CIMB Bank Singapore CEO Mak Lye Mun said the company was “very proud” of what the two brothers have achieved “at such a young age”. He also said CIMB hopes the sponsorship will propel them to do well in local, regional and international stages.
And they’re not the only ones that are proud, obviously.
Daddy Fandi offered there were “no short-cuts to making champions” and described the deal as a “breakthrough in Irfan and Ikhsan’s development as footballers”.
