Family members of a recently deceased woman are appealing to the public for more information about an accident that she was involved in that saw a van driver allegedly acting unconcerned after he knocked her down.

The accident was said to have taken place along Bukit Batok East Avenue 2 on Nov 21 — the 55-year-old victim was hit by a van and was left in a critical condition at the hospital. The woman succumbed to her injuries on last Saturday.

The deceased’s family, however, have yet to hear from the motorist who collided into the victim. Facebook user Shali Khalid wrote in a post that an eyewitness who attended to the woman heard the driver telling someone on the phone in Malay that he crashed into someone. Apparently, the motorist also told the eyewitness to not be a busybody and did not call for an ambulance to treat the victim.

“To the company that hired this driver, please contact me and work with us accordingly,” wrote Shali. “Hospital bills have to be compensated, and to the driver, at least come forward and apologize to the family members.”

We’ve contacted the police for further details on the case.
