Faith in humanity restored — lost wallet returned with $1k note intact to owner’s house

What would you have done if you and your friends stumbled upon a wallet with a $1,000 note inside? Take the money and destroy the remnants? Fold the note into a paper plane? Throw away the note and keep the swanky wallet?

Three Indian men stood apart from the rest of the malicious world and actually delivered a lost wallet containing $1,000 in person to its oblivious owner, Sugie Phua. Such benevolence!

Phua, who didn’t even realise his wallet was gone, was pleasantly astonished to find the three men who took the effort to return the wallet straight to his house, with its very valuable contents untouched.

“I took over my IC and pulled out my 1000 dollars note kept inside my wallet and before I said anything, he said  ‘I am rich, I don’t need your thousand dollars’ and laughed, and his two friends laughed along.”

Just 30 minutes ago my doorbell rang, upon hearing it I was thinking to myself, this better not be some irritating…

As quickly as they appeared, they were off before Phua even had time to think of how to return the favour. Though Phua’s “a handful of coins” seems actually kind of insulting for the colossal deed they carried out.

“Thank you Muru Muru, Radja and third Indian man. What you did is really beautiful. So graceful and untainted. I am very grateful to have you guys who found my wallet, to have you guys as neighbors, to share this space with people like you,” Phua said.
