The trifecta of consumer-based apps owned by Facebook were down around Sunday evening as many flocked to other social media sites such as Twitter to voice their displeasure.
Heatmaps showed by DownDetector showed that Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines are among those hit by the outage when Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all went down simultaneously.
On Twitter, many were in shock over how all three sites went down simultaneously.

Facebook has yet to comment on the outage.
As of 7.45pm Singapore time, WhatsApp was able to be used in Singapore but Facebook and Instagram were still down according to checks done by Coconuts Singapore. Attempts to access Facebook using VPN through a German-based IP address were successful, though.
