Expect trains on North-South Line to run slower than usual until end of day

We apologize for bringing you such bad news at the end of what could’ve been a great hump day, but it’s never fun to rush off from work only to realize that train service has been disrupted. Well, okay, in this case, it isn’t so bad — all stations are operating fine; just expect trains on the North-South Line to run slower than usual until the end of the day.

Due to a rubber insulator that melted along the city-bound tracks during morning rush hour, a gap opened up between running rails, and it seems the track fault can only be repaired after operational hours, according to The Straits Times.

So close your eyes, take a deep breath, and recall the situation this morning when SMRT ran trains at lower speeds over a 150m stretch between Bishan and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations for safety reasons. Obviously, that caused numerous trains to bunch up, resulting in service getting delayed, and, well, a similar situation is expected to occur during evening peak hour. C’est la vie.

You know the drill by now. Find an alternate route to your destination and take to social media to complain your heart out.
