The very idea that our tireless, overworked teachers might have to actually pay for parking at school soon caused a righteous furore on the interwebz.
For the right reasons too — teaching is one of the most mentally and physically exhausting jobs in the world, and yet one iota of benefit afforded to them might be taken away. All because the Auditor-General thinks it’s unfair — after all, other public service organisations charge normally for parking at their premises.
One strong voice against the Ministry of Education’s possible future action comes in the form of a Facebook post by Subramaniyan Senthil Zack. A teacher himself, he simply retells a message by a friend who’s a former teacher — and boy it’s a doozy. Read on below to see why our noble teachers do deserve free (or at least subsidised) parking in the very places they dedicate their life to.
A message from an ex-teacher (which is not me):Teachers, you don’t have to feel so upset over the impending parking…
