A former judge who was known as the Simon Cowell in the Singaporean reality television singing competition Singapore Idol is now known for a slew of misconduct.
Ken Lim Chih Chiang, 59, today was slapped with five new charges of insulting the modesty of three women. He was charged in March for sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman in the office of his record label Hype Records.
According to the court, Lim allegedly offered himself for sex multiple times at his office or home between 1998 and 2013.
He allegedly told one female artiste that he could help her with being sexually inexperienced, and had shown her a porno where a woman was having sex with men.
In another instance, he allegedly asked another female artiste sexual questions like if she was a virgin, and offered to be her first partner because he questioned how she can write “deeper songs if she was sexually inexperienced.”
He allegedly also gave her “homework” to write her “sexual fantasies” and offered himself to fulfill them.
Lastly, Lim was accused of telling another woman that “if she could have sex for nothing, why not have sex for something.” He then unbuckled and removed his belt in front of her.
Lim was a judge for all three seasons of Singapore Idol in 2004, 2006 and 2009, as well as another local reality singing competition The Final 1.
If found guilty, he could face up to a year in jail and a fine for each charge. If found guilty of molestation, he faces up to two years in jail and a fine.
