Because we can’t get enough of the SG50 campaign. Or Hello Kitty, for that matter.
We all remember the last time McDonald’s in Singapore did a Hello Kitty campaign, right? It killed the Internet as collectors fell over each other to be the first ones to buy the Hello Kitty Bubbly World Collector’s Set..
So we have to ask ourselves this time, is the island state ready for another McDo-Hello Kitty frenzy?
Apparently, we are.
On July 27, McDonald’s Singapore will start selling SG50-themed Hello Kitty soft toys for $5 each with every purchase of an Extra Value Meal. TODAY confirms these versions: a Hello Kitty dressed as a Trishaw Uncle, SG50 Parade, Orchid Lover, Durian Lover and a Samsui Woman.
Each design will be introduced a week after each other. A limited edition Hello Kitty plush collectible dressed as a McDonald’s crew will be available on site starting on Aug 6 (11am), and on the website starting on July 20 (11am) at onlinestore.mcdonalds.com.sg.
Those who want just the toys can donate their Extra Value Meal to The Food Bank Singapore, just tell the crew.
In a press release, McDonald also announced a special SG50 ice-cream cone, with a dominant red colour, for 50 cents each from Aug 7-9.
